As part of the development of the Code of Practice, a study of the borehole drilling sector in Ghana was undertaken. It revealed that most of the expectations and principles of cost effective borehole provision have been taken on board in the country although they could be strengthened further. In general, the prices of boreholes in the country are not excessively high considering the cost incurred in producing them.
